Carnivore Diet for Beginners

Carnivore Diet For Beginners

Carnivore diet for beginners can seem daunting.

Good for you that you decided to take a leap of faith and start on the carnivore diet. I’ve never regretted it. On the contrary.

But how do you get started?

Here’s How We Approached Being New to the Carnivore Diet

We started with breakfast.

Instead of eating our normal breakfast, we had a carnivore one. I made breakfast, and it would either consist of cheese pancakes, liver pancakes or ground beef paddies.

Sometimes we just had hard-boiled eggs with a cheese sauce or butter.

If you’re having 3 meals a day now, you could start with breakfast, like we did. If you’re rushing out the door in the morning and need something fast, you have plenty of options:

  • Prepare the meal the day before
  • Eat hard-boiled eggs with sardines or butter or cheese
  • Eat cold, fried meat or fish
  • Prepare “scones” made out of eggs and fish or ham
  • Eat prepared cod roe or salmon roe with eggs
  • Have smoked salmon with cream cheese

You’ll find several of these recipes on my site.

The cool thing is that whether you’re a carnivore diet beginner or a seasoned one, you can make the same recipes.

(Although I know that some of the hard-core carnivores eat raw meat. Even raw liver. I’m not there yet. Don’t know if I’ll ever be.)

The moment you decide to start with a carnivore breakfast, stop buying anything that isn’t carnivore. That means among other things:

  • Bread
  • Fruit
  • Juice
  • Beans
  • Beer
  • Nuts
  • Cake
  • Chips
  • Pizza
  • Pop soda
  • Chocolate
  • Vegetables
  • Vegetable oil
  • Peanut butter

In short… Anything that isn’t carnivore, meaning coming from an animal.

You can keep eating what you have at home for now. Just get into the habit of having one carnivore meal per day.

The reason why I start with breakfast is that if you get a good meal for breakfast, you’ll be less hungry and have less sugar cravings during the day.

Once You’re In the Habit of Eating Carnivore Breakfast, This Is Your Next Step

Throw out everything that isn’t carnivore.

Don’t make the mistake we did of keeping some food… The price was high. I don’t recommend it.

You will regret it if you don’t listen to this advice.

Now it’s time to eat one more carnivore meal. We quickly found that we only needed two meals per day. All the carnivore people I know have either one or two meals per day.

Sure, you can snack between meals.

Just make sure you’re having carnivore snacks. That can be butter, dried meat or even hard boiled eggs.

What’s for Carnivore Dinner?

Here’s the funny thing. 😉

We didn’t make a difference between breakfast and dinner after a while. Same recipes. Same ingredients.

Here’s another funny thing.

I used to hate to cook every day. I liked cooking. Just not that it had to be every day.

I hate repeating tasks that I’m forced to do.

But ever since we went carnivore, I’ve enjoyed cooking. It’s so fast and easy. There’s really no need for fast food because…

Carnivore food IS fast.

Fry a steak, 1 minute on each side, 6 minutes in total.

Does it get any faster? You can’t even say “a whopper with French fries and a vanilla milkshake” in the same time.

And another huge advantage besides the saved time?

No more toxic ingredients. When you cook your meals, which is fast and easy, you know what they consist of.

Carnivore recipes – even for beginners – often contain two ingredients. Like meat and salt.

Go check a cookbook for any other recipe and you’ll find 5, 6 or even more ingredients.

Or worse – buy it at the supermarket. Just look at how much shit they put in there. Sugar is added to everything!

They want you to become addicted.

You’ll find out soon enough as a carnivore diet beginner – how much easier and better life is.

Carnivore Meal Plan for Beginners

Assuming you’re starting with breakfast, let’s take a 7 day easy meal plan first.

And oh, you may be wondering…

How Much Can I Eat on a Carnivore Diet?

As long as you eat carnivore food, you can eat until you’re no longer hungry.

No counting calories on a carnivore diet. That’s another thing that makes it nice and easy. And speaking of breakfast…

Can I Drink Coffee or Tea on a Carnivore Diet?

Short answer: No.

Tea, herbal tea and coffee… it all comes from plant based food.

The longer answer: I do it! I won’t give up my herbal tea or coffee with heavy cream. Nope! Not yet at least.

I’ve seen before that my taste changes. I stopped drinking hot, boiled water with lemon for example. And I stopped drinking red wine. (We had wine once a week – now we rarely get it and only rosé.)

Carnivore Breakfast Meal Plan

Monday: Cheese pancakes with butter.

Tuesday: Boiled eggs with canned sardines.

Wednesday: Left-over meat or fish – can be prepared the previous day as scones / cup cakes.

Thursday: Omelet with blue cheese. You can add canned tuna to this one.

Friday: Fried omega 3 chicken filets.

Saturday: Liver pancakes with butter.

Sunday: 6-Minute Steak with butter

Carnivore Diet for Beginners – a Shopping List

When my daughter wanted to go carnivore, she had no idea what to buy.

So I made her a shopping list. Which I’m sharing on this blog, too. Why not?

You’ll find the carnivore shopping list here.
